ELLIOTT EARLS, the head of the graphic design program, describes Cranbrook as a “studio-based experience,” without formal teachers or classes, with artists-in-residence serving as mentors instead. One recent project involved a guerilla marketing campaign, complete with branding and logos, for a student’s hip-hop alter ego.
