Among other things I’ll be doing today at The Designers & Books Design Book Festival is chatting about W.A. Dwiggins: A Life in Design—a sneak preview of the title with author Bruce Kennett and publisher Rob Saunders. I’ll moderate the discussion about their forthcoming biography of the man who coined the term “graphic designer.” This 480-page book encompasses 1,200 illustrations, 40 years of collecting, and 13 years of research. It would be great to see you there and talk about books you like and those you want to see more of.
All too often, typography gets overlooked in larger design competitions—which is why we developed one that gives the artforms their full due and recognizes the best designers in each category. Whether you design your own typefaces, design type-centric pieces or create gorgeous handlettered projects, we want to see your work—and share it with our readers.
