Letter From LA

Today I’m in sunny, warm, sublime Los Angeles. I’m not gloating over those of you on the slushy, cold East Coast, just stating fact. One of the many highlights of my visit to UCLA was visiting with Rebeca Mendez, who showed me a design initiative that she and Adam Eeuwens created for the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women. “We became theagency’s brand stewards and continue to lead them through theirre-branding process,” she told me. They accomplished the work with extremely limited funds, “yet with tireless dedication of great menand women who believe that violence is preventable and peace achievable.” The overall concept was to take ownership of the slogan Peace Over Violence, so every group, individual, or institution could add their words and names “over violence.” Here is where you can see the entire campaign.
