January 8, 2009. Next Tuesday, New York’s Design Within Reach Flatiron store will host a second installment of Product Placement, an event consisting of a series of 5-minute designer presentations focused on process and inspiration. The theme this time around is textile design, and the speakers will include Wook Kim, Heather Dunbar, Amy Helfand, Tom Scott, Heather Bush from Carnegie Fabrics, and the folks at twenty2. Founded by Kimberly Oliver and Julie Taraska, Product Placement is like Pecha Kucha but with a narrower focus on design—plus, it’s the perfect excuse to stop your post-New Year’s hibernating and come out and be social. It’ll more fun than sitting home watching reruns of That ’70s Show, we promise. thisisproductcplacement.com
