Herbert Matter designed some of the the most emblematic posters, but as yet his own image has been in the shadows. That is about to end. The long-awaited documentary The Visual Language of Herbert Matter is one step closer to completion with the launch of the Matter movie website. Director Reto Caduff says the world premiere commence in the Spring and then start a screening tour in the Fall.

He also sent along the poster (above) for the film by Cristiana Couceiro, whose website is alive with Matter-like modernist gems. And look here for an insightful clip of the Matter’s development of the New Haven Railroad logo.
