Qui

After running a dance company in Naples, Italy, Francesca and Guido Zwicker moved to a different stage. In January the couple, who have designed furniture and interiors since the late 1990s, opened Qui, a studio and showroom in the elephantine Starrett-Lehigh Building in Manhattan’s Chelsea art district. Toe-tapping exuberance is certainly on display in their boucle-and-ultrasuede-upholstered Oloz lounge chair and ottoman (left, $3,750 and $1,925), Oloz loveseat (right, $3,195), and Loungescape modular seating (rear, starting at $290). The Sogni nel Cassetto chest ($4,800) fits antique drawers into a plexiglass shell, and Gaia vases ($375 each) combine thrown clay and molten gold. Qui sells not just the Zwickers’ own productions, but also those of Italian companies Edra, Dilmos, and Cattelani & Smith, whose Malagola pendant light ($3,000) is shown here.
