Speaking of Bernhard

He carries the Lucian Bernhard gene. Michael Schwab recently launched the Turner Classic Movies poster project (creative director: Rob Reed – 1 Trick Pony), which you can see them on TMC “Summer Under the Stars” website.

The posters, which follow in the sachplakat tradition with a hint of the Beggarstaff Brothers and a tad of this, feature silhouettes of movie stars like Julie Christie,
Clint Eastwood, and Norma Shearer as they appeared in iconic films,
such as (respectively) DarlingHang ‘em High and Romeo and Juliet. As the images here exhibit, these are stunning works that combine past and present.
