Forget the swine flu pandemic: what’s with the current infestation of plastic bears–bearing honey? Just a few years ago, one or maybe two companies offered them. Now even Golden Blossom Honey (the original package designed by Gustav Jensen) has a bear. Oh Pooh!!
Generic bear containers are common enough, but what I don’t quite understand is why competing honey manufacturers would want to package their product in the same cliché. (I know many of the companies are regional.) Granted, these bears are cute (although they do bear a slight resemblance to a famous comic chipmunk), but don’t they know that not all honey comes from bears. Most of it is imported from bees.
