Jewelry Exhibition Showcases Work by Designers

Ring by designer Michele Oka Doner at Friedman Benda

December 11, 2008. Tonight, contemporary jewelry dealer Sara Benda of celebrates the opening of her first exhibition, Zerocarat, at husband Marc Benda’s Friedman Benda gallery with a 7-9 PM reception. Benda’s collection focuses on established artists and designers who are known in a field outside of jewelry and has included colorful resin cuffs by architect Gaetano Pesce, etched silver brooches by painter and sculptor Kiki Smith, a tarantula necklace by the industrial designers of Studio Job, porcelain pieces by Dror Benshetrit of Studio Dror and Perspex bracelets by Gijs Bakker of Droog Design and Chi ha paura. Zerocarat will include pieces by designers Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad and Michele Oka Doner, along with artists Kenny Scharf, Louise Bourgeois, Lucio Fontana and Louise Nevelson, among others.
