Journalism in the Age of Data

Geoff McGhee has put together a remarkable documentary on the state of Data Visualization and more specifically its expanding role in the world of journalism. I was lucky enough to be given a few minutes of screen time to discuss my Annual Reports, but the film is a great opportunity to hear from most of the biggest names in the field including:

  1. Martin Wattenberg and Fernanda Viégas, creators of Many Eyes and the Google Visualization group.

  2. Ben Fry, the co-creator of Processing.

  3. Steve Duenes, Amanda Cox and many others from The New York Times graphics department.

  4. Eric Rodenbeck, founder and creative director of Stamen Design.

  5. Jeff Heer, co-creator of the Protovis javascript visualization library.
