What made certain images appeal to consumers back in the nascent days of branding? The answer would confound. There was little or no market testing. It came down to the preferences — and talents — of the printer or advertising firm. There is no accountin’ for taste. While this ginger ale may have had a nice kick, the mascot left something to be desired.

What a peculiar ad! Do you have a link to more info on this brand of ginger ale? A quick google search didn’t yeild much, and I’m interested to know a bit more background on this.
I wonder how many people wanted to block out the brand name for a giggle?
