Years ago, I asked Christoph Niemann “to do something large.” And he said “no way!”He did it nonetheless, for a show at Gallerie Max Hetzler in Berlin (installation below) November 23, 2013 – January 18, 2014.

“I’m going to show a new series of silkscreens, 2 series from Abstract City, original drawings (a first for me: some from pieces that were published in the New York Times and the New Yorker, some from 100%, some unpublished),” he wrote me. “And then I did a large wall illustration that incorporates the Marathon series. Last but not least: I made these big tape collages by printing out the Berlin subway map on canvas and then adding (a lot) of tape.”

If you’re in Berlin, don’t waste any time, visit the Hetzler gallery before the tape wears off.
