Via the Canadian design blog Poppytalk, this terrific link to a graphic design history photo collection with a twist: The Flickr page owner describes herself as a "Child of the Great Depression, member of the Greatest Generation, adopted off an Indian Reservation, mother of two, grandma of 4, workaholic, retired graphic designer, college faculty, vocational instructor, cooperative education placement person, lover of photography and Washington State Parks, also two years shy of eighty years old." As Poppy writes:
alki1 is two years shy of 80 and posts almost daily about graphic design on her flickr site. "one of the most informative flickr streams as far as graphic design history goes" according to the crap detector and so cool to see someone still loving design so much. "look at her images and read her captions, you will learn" says, kate consumption. here's her stream. |
