[The good folks at Print posted this for me - SH]
You heard it here first.
The alternative literary empire founded by Dave Eggers and including McSweeney's the magazine, books, stores, and The Believer is now opening a small but energetic design office (see card below) called Timothy McSweeney's Design House.
Chris
Ying says that Design House is not looking to re-brand IBM and other
multinational conglomerates—a few of which have already borrowed the
distinctive po-mo, neo-classic proto-post-victorian sensibility—but
rather will tackle smaller jobs where the personal touch is welcome.
"Any outside jobs will go through the same creative process as our own stuff," says Ying.
Included
on the design team are Mr. Eggers, Eli Horowitz (managing editor cum
publisher of McSweeney's), Jordan Bass, and Mr. Ying.
