With all the important events in the world, why would I be concerned this Monday with a cardboard box made to look like wood?

Well, honestly, on Friday (long after I put Friday's DH to bed for the weekend) I received a huge parcel from FedEx in a box that bore its logo but was not its familiar white (red and blue). This was brown faux woodgrain, and I gotta tell ya, I was smitten. It would never in a million years be mistaken for a crate, but the simulacrum was nonetheless kind of pleasing to the eye - not in a sophisticated design sense - but as a respite from all the cold standardized DHL, UPS, USPS, etc., courier packages. It was a throwback to the days when fake brick and wood was stylish.

So, on this dogday Monday, I take my hat off to FedEx for daring to be retro and needing to be funky.
