So many puns, so little relation to the subject at hand.
Well, that's not entirely true. President Gerald Ford is indeed now a face in the corn (get it: A Face in the Crowd) and while corn is not chaff, wheat is, you get the point.
As a testament to the late 38th president a maze of maize was designed in Richland, Michigan. Ford was a Michigan native and played football for the University of Michigan.
"Instead of just creating a
path for people to travel through, we decided to make it a tribute to
the late President Ford," Justin Wendzel, a spokesman Gull Meadow, told
the Kalamazoo Gazette for a Saturday story.
Each year the Gull Meadow Farm near Richland cuts a maze in its cornfield. Gotta say, the type is impeccable. Is a Corn Gothic Bold on the horizon?
By the way, did you know: Ford was born Leslie Lynch King Jr., in Omaha, Neb. He moved to the Grand Rapids area as a baby and later changed his name in recognition of his mother's second husband.
