I was recently accused on a blog by one Phil Beard of having ignored the work of Antonio Petruccelli, one of Fortune Magazine's most prolific cover artists of the late thirtites and forties.
Mea Culpa. Although I have known of and admired Mr. Petruccelli's work, and even reprinted one of his great covers showing a worker welding a Red Star for the cover of a USSR issue, I have been remiss in acknowledging his keen streamline sensibility.
