Hello New York Junkees fan!
You may have been following the recent scandals of professional athletes involved in the use of steroids, most notably: Marion Jones (track and fields), Barry Bonds (baseball), Romario (soccer) and most recently, Roger Clemens from the New York Yankees who is now facing serious charges for this crime.
Roger Clemens is considered one of the greatest players in the history of baseball and the New York Yankees are one of the most celebrated and successful sports franchises in the world, having won 26 World Series (the word "world" includes the USA and Canada). Besides Roger Clemens, the Yankees are connected to several other players who have been accused of using steroids.
So it might just be more appropriate to call them the New York Junkees.
