Alex Steinweiss,
born on March 24, 1917, the first record cover designer, is 90 years
old - and still working. I just spoke to Alex yesterday at his home in
Sarasota, Florida, where he was said he was busily working on 30
separate canvases. The man who introduced orignal art to drab "tombstone" 78" record albums and helped invent the 33 1/3" LP sleeve is planning for a career capping book and retrospective exhibition. Bravo!!!
