Colors
PRINT covers are printed in 4-color. Please do not use metallic or fluorescent colors, or any colors that would require special treatment during the printing process.
Trim Size
9" X 10 7/8"
Cover Theme
The theme is the same as the tagline: Design Culture Youth. Our Mar/Apr issue publishes the results of our New Visual Artists competition--20 designers, illustrators, photographers, animators, and typographers under 30 years old--in addition to the Student Cover Competition. We ask all participants to keep in mind our issue theme when designing a cover.
Use of Copyrighted Materials
Avoid using copyrighted/trademarked materials/objects as elements on the cover, as well as materials that require special clearances. Remember that the cover will be printed and prior permission must be obtained in order to reproduce these materials. If models are used on the cover, a signed model release form should be included with the entry.
The following information must appear, neatly printed, on the back of the printed submission and on the CD casing:
- Name of designer
- Home address, phone number, and e-mail address of designer
- Instructor's name, phone number, and e-mail address
- Name and address of school
No entries will be accepted before March 17, 2007.
