My Old Gold Moment

Yes, that’s me at three years old. My mom was anxious to get me some modeling and TV commercial work. She dressed me up in various fashionable togs and had a professional photographer shoot portfolio glossies. During one such session she thought it would be fun to have me pose with her favorite brand of cigarette, Old Gold. We both enjoyed the dancing cigarette pack (below). (And much later I collected Old Gold advertisements.) Yet this, in fact, must have been some kind of aversion therapy since after this close encounter with tobacco, I never touched another smoke as long as I lived. . . or get any modeling jobs either.
