“I’m a huge fan of Beirut, and I had a couple of poster ideas I had worked on for fun. Through Internet magic, the ideas made their way to the band through a booking agent.

“The final design played off the title of the band’s new album, The Riptide. I recall looking at an image of a record with a glare on it and thinking it looked like a wave; the idea built from there. I was worried that the concept of a record as ‘something else’ on a poster was a little overdone—but I’m happy with how it turned out.” —Jamie Reed
