“The fair had a new management team, and they were looking to engage a more sophisticated set of exhibitors and attendees for the event. As a bibliophile, I was excited to do the job. The pattern in the A is Italian marbleized paper, a mainstay in the endpapers of antiquarian books. The typeface is Didot from Hoefler & Frere-Jones. We chose this typeface because it appears to be modern, but the Didot face actually dates from the 18th century.” —Kit Hinrichs
