There’s a lot to love about old magazine advertisements. They were not about the “creative” experience. The humor, if it existed, was soft. The illustrations were wysiwyg. But they were the first signs of graphic design (or layout) that suggested someone with design know-how, even taste and flair, was guiding the page.
