In order to make the creative world feel a bit less lonely and a bit more connected in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve been publishing a new blog series—CoviDiaries—that brings us into the homes and minds of various designers, illustrators and other professionals, to see how they’re coping. Today’s installment comes from Jennifer Kinon and Bobby C. Martin Jr. of Champions Design—who had just rebranded their agency, formerly Original Champions of Design (OCD), when the pandemic struck.

The agency turned 10 years old on March 1, and we had what now feels like the last party on the island of Manhattan. We invited everyone who has ever worked with us in the studio, at AIGA/NY, or on the Hillary for America design team. We announced our rebrand—Champions Design. We thanked everyone for their hard work. And we got fired up for what’s to come.

The full impact of COVID-19 hit two weeks later, just as we were packaging the files to publicly document the process of the rebrand. Now we are untethered from a deadline and will likely volley these book files around until we find a vaccine—forever revising as the world changes and we change with it.
