Based on the Hemingway novel of the same name, this paint-on-glass animation by Aleksandr Petrov took over two years to create. Mr. Petrov used his fingertips and paintbrushes to paint slow-drying oils on different layers of glass positioned at different levels. After photographing each frame, he modified the painting… 29,000 frames later, he delivered this 20 minute sublime masterpiece.
