Once again, repeat after me: Print ain’t dead yet!!!! Certainly not with this promotion for a forthcoming book as evidence thereof. This is the pre-publication promotion of the 2016 essential collection of punk posters from Andrew Krivine’s archive, titled Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die by Krivine and Jonathan Barli, which promises to be the sina qua non of punk graphics.

Krivine captured a band of writers—Philip Brophy, Sebastian Conran, Glen Cummings, Adam Michaels, Gary Pantaer, Rick Poynor, Peter Silverton and me to chronicle and comment on the legacies of punk, post-punk and pre-punk stuff: posters, records, zines, flyers, stickers, buttons and even fashion. And it is set to be the candle on the 40th birthday cake for punk. 40 years!!!!????? Imagine?! Watch for it from Fantagraphics in 2016.

All too often, typeface designs, typographic designs and handlettering get overlooked in competitions—which is why Print developed a competition that gives the artforms their full due and recognizes the best designers in each category. Enter Print’s Typography & Lettering Awards today.
