Big Apple Design

Six months ago, a group was founded to wed design talent and design need. Called desigNYC, its mission “is to improve the lives of New Yorkers by connecting nonprofits, community groups and city agencies serving the public good with passionate, professional pro bono designers.” Launched by New York Magazine and ESI Design, the founding board members and designer volunteers at desigNYC provide pro bono designguidelines, best practices and resources, host community-buildingevents, and promote design collaborations to accelerate andcelebrate their impact.

On Thursday, June 17, at Pratt Manhattan Gallery Space (144 W 14thSt, 2nd Fl), DesigNYC will showcase 12 pilot projects developed over the past six months. If you cannot be there, below are some of the projects and you can see videos here.
