Bookstore on Wheels

Dateline Italia (the last): What is a Libreria Itinerante per Ragazzi? It’s a bookstore for children, and it’s on wheels. What is Ottimomassimo? A canine character–a wiener dog to be precise–in an Italo Calvino story (The Baron in the Trees) from which the name of this unique transportable bookstore (logo above and truck below) was taken. Deborah Joria is the proprietor of a moveable feast for young eyes and minds, which features the best in international kids’ authors and illustrators. I only wish that such a great bookmobile was operating in New York when I was young, or today. To see Ottimomassimo in action watch this.

Do you know of anything like it in the U.S.?
