Al Capp, creator of L’il Abner comic strip, invented “Kickapoo Joy Juice” that was turned into a carbonated soft drink for NuGrape. The intoxicating juice was a kind of hillbilly moonshine in the comic, but in real life it was similar to Mountain Dew.
