Look what I found!! Vintage movie title cards were not viewed as significant graphic design when they were created in the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s. To look at them now, some are masterpieces of hand-lettering.
What’s still fairly ignored is the end title card. I recently stumbled upon a website by the Movie Title Stills Collection that offers a wealth of exemplary titles but also The Ends. Here are some goodies from 1950 to 1954 (mouse over the first image to see the second).
