There are many definitions for “starch bomb” but let’s call a pipe a pipe (C’est une pipe). Muzzy’s was one heck of a promoter. The company sent out scores of chromolithographed missiles hoping to hit targets on both coasts. They produced recipe booklets and other starchy manifestos. Here’s a sampling from one pamphlet emphasizing it fine design, fantasy visual approaches and decidedly racist depictions.
