NYU Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute professor Brooke Kroeger, the driving force behind “Blowing Minds; 1965–1972: The East Village Other,” just announced a new page on the continually growing website Rise of the Underground Comix and Alternative Press. It collects the ephemera of EVO, including correspondence and memos saved by the ad hoc archivist, Charlie Frick.

For an intimate and curious look at the inner depths of the underground, go here and click on the items. Then visit the rest of the site. And then read this.

EVO was headquartered on the second floor of the Fillmore East.

In the early days the graphics were all ad hoc.

EVO received letters for soldiers, prisoners and anyone who could write a name.
