If you are trying to decide what to do with your old computer(s), here’s a suggestion from Serbia (by way of Mirko Ilic): Make it into a tombstone. The couple buried above not only made their final resting place into a marble PC work station, they included an eternal loop of their lives on the screen (eternal, that is, assuming no power outages or incurable viruses). The trend in customized monuments is gaining momentum. (BTW, I wrote about contemporary tombstone design in Print’s August issue of this year.) Next thing you know Apple will be licensing an iStone with an everlasting peace screen-saver.
And speaking of death, the late George Carlin once said: “Death is caused by swallowing small amounts of saliva over a long period of time.”
