HOW Design Live team. After all, the star-studded inspiration and groundbreaking insights from the 2015 conference were nothing short of mind-blowing. So when we started seeing the names headlining the 2016 HOW Design Live conference in Atlanta, we were surprised to feel an even more thrilling wave of excitement stirring in our creative souls.

VP Innovation and Entrepreneurship – The Coca-Cola Company
David Butler first joined Coca-Cola to revolutionize the company’s approach to design — not just how things look, but a holistic, systems-based approach to create growth across the business. It’s the subject of his new book, Design to Grow. In his talks, Butler reveals the secrets of Coke’s ongoing success and how his new startup-focused venture platform is poised to change the way large organizations innovate.
Partner – Anderson Newton Design
Gail Anderson is the director of design and digital media at the School of Visual Arts Press, and a partner at Anderson Newton Design. She serves on the board for the Type Directors Club and is chair of the design subcommittee for US Postal Service’s Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee. Anderson is the recipient of the 2008 AIGA Lifetime Achievement Medal, and is the author of Outside the Box, published by Princeton Architectural Press.
Partner & Designer – Chermayeff, Geismar & Haviv
Sagi Haviv is a partner and designer at Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv. Among the over 50 identity programs he has designed are the logos for the Library of Congress, CFA Institute, Harvard University Press, Conservation International, Women’s World Banking, and Armani Exchange.
Sagi joined the firm in 2003 after graduating from The Cooper Union School of Art. He teaches Visual Identity Design at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. Sagi is coauthor of Identify: Basic Principles of Identity Design in the Iconic Trademarks of Chermayeff & Geismar (Print Publishers, 2011).
Sagi Haviv crafted an intriguing series on identity design for Print, including advice on choosing a wordmark or a symbol, designing for startups, and designing for corporate mergers.
Painter, Designer, Writer
Elle Luna paints, designs, and writes. She also runs a textile venture, the Bulan Project, a collaboration between designers and master batik artists in Bali, and has previously worked as a designer at IDEO and with startups including Mailbox, Medium, and Uber. She speaks to groups around the world, sharing the story of “The Crossroads of Should and Must,” and lives in San Francisco and online at elleluna.com.
Husani S. Oakley
Husani S. Oakley is the Chief Technology Officer at GoldBean, an online investing platform that helps people start their investment journey with companies and brands they love, know, and buy. He is a veteran technologist who has spent over fifteen years building world-class digital experiences that bridge the gap between art and science. His creative, technical, and production leadership in the advertising industry has been recognized by One Show, AICP, Webby Awards, and the FWA, and he’s spoken at conferences such as SXSW, ADMA, Digital Dallas, and Internet Summit. A co-founder of Flavorpill Productions, Atlantico USA, and Oakley+Partners, Husani’s most recent role was Director of Creative Technology at Wieden + Kennedy, creating campaign work for Nike, ESPN, Heineken, Delta, and Target. Because he drinks entirely too much coffee, Husani is also the Executive Producer and Creative Director of Sessions In Dance, a modern dance company. He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his partner and their dog.
