If you happen to be visiting London at any time after the Olympics, you may want to visit The Outsiders, a gallery of insider/outsider contemporary art. It features a stellar group of artists including Banksy, Blu, Gary Taxali, Lucy McLauchlan, Morley, Paul Insect, Ron English, and Zevs, among others.
The Outsiders was founded in 2006 by Steve Lazarides as a space catering for art enthusiasts at all levels. Lazarides Editions brought together innovative artists and provides exposure to unknown artists too.
Morley
The gallery called The Dungeon in the basement, 8 Greek Street, Soho, London W1D 4DG, is a space for a cutting-edge exhibitions. The versatility of the space provides a platform for emerging artists, giving them the opportunity to showcase their talent as well as offering the more established Lazarides represented artists the freedom to play and produce experimental shows. The ground floor at Greek Street continues to expand upon the success of Lazarides’ in-house editions workshop to produce exclusive small run editions, hand-finished prints, and works on paper at attractive prices. A new space, The Newcastle Gallery, 77 Quayside, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 3DE, combines a shop at ground level with a project space in the basement called The Kitchen Gallery. Morley
The Outsiders Newcastle will host the first ever solo exhibition by distinctive Los Angeles street artist Morley, “I Don’t Make Sense Without You.” And at The Outsiders London, Logan Hicks’ first ever solo show titled “Structural Integrity.” Hicks is a pioneer in stencil art, creating photorealistic paintings of urban landscapes in meticulous detail, from layers upon layers of painstakingly cut stencils.
