An exhibition that celebrates a defining moment in the history of art must make an impression. Luckily, New York RDA winner MoMA Design Studio, The Museum of Modern Art’s in-house design studio, helped MoMA exhibition “Inventing Abstraction” do just that. The exhibition celebrates the centennial of the development of abstract art, bringing together pieces from around the world and crossing many mediums, including paintings, drawings, prints, books, sculptures, films, photographs, recordings, and dance pieces. The designs for this unique exhibition use bold shapes and a little humor to show how sometimes the most effective approach is a simplistic one, especially when dealing with an exhibition that is large and brings much to the table on its own. Check out the MoMA team and the rest of their designs.
