Grand Prix

The Grand Prix modular seating system from Westhampton, Mass.-based SZADO Design evolved from a chair commissioned by Grand Prix motorcycle racer Rabbie Demetrius. Grand Prix has a modified hardwood frame and slash-cut ends, combined with straight-sided center sections and 30-degree concave or convex angled sections that allow the sofa to curve around objects in a room. The seating is made to order in leather, ultrasuede or custom fabric upholstery. Prices start at $4,000 for a single-seater. www.szado.com
