Kuum Hotel & Spa by GAD Architecture Opens in Bodrum

August 4, 2008. Opened last month in the Turkish resort of Bodrum, the KUUM Hotel & Spa and residences consist of a 60-room lodging, 37 apartments and an Anandara spa and hammam. New York and Istanbul-based designers at Global Architecture Development (GAD) took their cues from the surrounding land and seascapes, as well as the historical legacies of southwestern Turkey and the Aegean Sea. Collaring a bay and terraced up a hillside, the simultaneously thorny and voluptuous villas – some with grassy rooftops, others with cantilevered and arcing bands of concrete – rise and fall with the terrain, framing the expansive views. gadarchitecture.com, kuumhotel.com
