If you’ve never heard of Kouichi Okamoto, take note: As director of the three-year-old Japanese studio Kyouei, the designer’s portfolio of spare, clever-but-not-too-clever, Droog-meets-the-far-East housewares is expanding at lightning speed, with nearly all hits and no misses.
