You might not guess by looking at it, but the hot-pink Pumpkin chair once warmed the haunches of Georges Pompidou at Paris’s Elysée Palace. Designed for the prime minister’s private apartments in 1969 by the octogenarian non-conformist Pierre Paulin—whose other famous organically named creations include the Mushroom, Orange Slice, and Tongue chairs—Pumpkin is now back in production thanks to Ligne Roset. Armchair available with or without headrest; prices start at $780 for the ottoman, $1460 for the armchair, $2415 for the loveseat, and $3245 for the sofa. www.ligne-roset-usa.com or 1-800-BY-ROSET
