The first watch by EPMartin—an Oregon-based company founded by two ex-Nike timing and tech designers—was a chronograph that earned serious adventurer cred when it was field tested by Charlie Engle, the long-distance runner who completed a 4,620-mile race across the Sahara while wearing the heavy-duty timepiece. This month, the duo debuts Cartridge: Inspired by a U.S.–made World War II pistol (the company’s named for designer Jason Martin’s grandfather, an ex-WWII crew chief), the watch comes with an Italian leather strap as well as a nylon replacement for more sporting duty. Added bonus: The designers will partner with ex-Nike colleague Scott Wilson on a super-secret design, set to debut this fall; $695. www.epmartinusa.com
