Toronto-based graphic artist Sandy Plotnikoff’s foil-stamped Gold Desk, with Mazzie Design

February 6, 2009. For the second year in a row, in conjunction with Interior Design Show, Toronto’s MADE showroom is inviting local design loyalists to Radiant Dark 2009: Elegant Corruptions, a curated exhibition featuring 33 up-and-coming Canadian design studios. Among the featured designers: Molo, the Vancouver-based husband-and wife team who will reveal their Tag Out Can (below), a system of ready-to-roll paint cans used to erase graffiti, and Mazzie Design and Sandy Plotnikoff, who will showcase The Gold Desk, a walnut and gold laminate desk that’s been foil-stamped in an act of faux-defacement. For a brief biography and description of the other 31 design studios’ creations, visit www.madedesign.ca. Through February 8.
