With more and more of us branching out onto the web on our own, it’s a great thing to constantly find tools to build our portfolio sites quickly and easily. Stacey’s an app just for that: a CMS that’s lightweight, easy to install and easy to run. You drop it onto your server, no config necessary. Your content’s edited by writing into text files and creating folders. If you’d rather install on OSX for preliminary work, that’s easy (albeit not quite, unless you’re used to mucking around in your system’s private folders) too.

There are some lovely template options for Stacey—here’s one that adds an elegant, fluid framework to pages, reflowing copy and content to fit the width of a page, much in the way Treesaver does for complex publications. Here’s an example of that in motion.
