As an interactive designer, I have never been in a situation in which accessibility is actually an issue, other than the usual conditions House of Pretty adheres to: we follow Section 508 and the W3C’s guidelines as closely as we can, when we can. I have never actually talked to a person who needs to use accessibility filters on a day to day basis, so I just don’t know all that much about it. This post, from a nearly-blind user who just received his first iPhone, is, therefore one of the coolest things I’ve read this week. He’s ecstatic at the level of interaction he’s been newly granted with the world around him, and in new ways.

It’s a long-ish read, but absolutely worth the time.
