Hey Brother, Can You Spare a Job?
The last day of the year is a moment for memories. As a 19 year old cartoonist I sent my work to every alternative mag and rag I could find. These are a couple of responses. I may not have gotten jobs from them, but at least the letters (below) from LA’s Open City and New York Scenes were encouraging.
Open City was LA’s second-largest underground paper.
New York Scenes was an alternative to New York magazine, which was an alternative to The New Yorker.
