Dear Iran on General Assembly Week
By: Steven Heller | September 25, 2009
With the General Assembly in New York this week, many eyes are turned back to Iran’s recent presidential election. Claims of voter fraud are not uncommon here and abroad, so Americans can certainly sympathize with the frustration of millions of Iranian voters who believed voting would bring about change.
To show their support for dissent and the green revolution (the color of dissent) in Iran, more than 100 international graphic designers created posters, including Woody Pirtle (above), Massimo Vignelli, Yossi Lemel, Wang Xu (below, first), Wim Crouwel (second), Edo Smitshuijzen (third), Lex Drewinski (bottom), Gianni Sinni, and Holger Matthies, among others. Social Design Zine in Italy is host to all the images of which I’ve reproduced only a few. To view all the posters, visit their site here.
