I am currently really liking Aleks Sennwald, Lazy Mom, JR Phillips, Ginette Lapalme, wow I dunno there are a lot of coolios out there!

Do you have a favorite among all the projects you’ve worked on?

It’s gotta be Songwich, a series of eight short animations commissioned by Disney. This kewl teen witch singing dreampop songs in her bedroom was a project I had fantasized about doing for a while, but I never in a million years imagined I’d be able to make it for a dream client like the ol’ House of Mouse. Does that sound like I’m trying to suck up to them? I am.

Is there a project that stands out to you as having been the biggest challenge of your career so far?

Releasing a full-length video game, Lovely Weather We’re Having, was really nuts, just because of all the moving parts. Conceptualizing, planning out every possible aspect of the game, managing programmers, writing 100+ pages of dialogue, beta testing, debugging, and then releasing the game as a product that had to be marketed. I also wasn’t really prepared to have to defend my game to a community of thousands of internet trolls, which is a totally different world from the mostly support-it-or-ignore-it attitude we have in the design community. Oh, what am I complaining about though, it was a really fun thing to do, and I like playing the game.

What do you hope to accomplish in the future?

I’m always amazed when movies, books, songs can move people to tears. Eventually I’d like to make people cry.

What’s your best advice for designers today?

Wear sunscreen, go outside, read books, back up your files. In that order!
