After seeing last Wednesday‘s The Daily Heller, eminent modernist designer 95 year old Louis Danziger (b. 1923) wrote me an email to say he also went to Evander Childs High School in New York, and he designed the 1942 yearbook cover:
“. . . imagine my surprise! What was your mother’s maiden name? It is entirely possible that I may have known her. . . Attached (shades of Lester Beall) is my Oriole cover design.”
What a very small world in the world’s “largest” city. (Although, in fact, Lou and my mom never met.)
