Two NYC designers and good friends — Jessica Walsh, Sagmeister & Walsh, and designer Timothy Goodman — have opposite relationship problems that are often stereotypical to men and women. She’s a hopeless romantic in search of love while he is a serial dater who is well aware of his inability to commit.

These two friends have grown stale over the dating scene and have agreed to embark on a social experiment to date one another for forty days and document the results with photos, detailed questionnaires and art. Forty Days of Dating showcases not only intimate details about Walsh and Goodman, but it’ll also reveal 80 typographic pieces (two with each day) created by artists, such as Keetra Dean Dixon, Stefan Sagmeister, Jessica Hische, Randy Hunt, Debbie Millman and Christoph Niemann, to name a few.

As with any experiment, there are rules. Goodman and Walsh promise to document everything, and will see each other every day, go on at least three dates a week, and will see a couples therapist once a week.

“Tim and I have been friends for years, and we always make fun of each other about our relationship problems. I wonder if putting two people together with opposite issues could help. Plus, these problems seem to be common with many other girls and guys we know, so I want to learn more about love and relationships in an attempt to figure out why,” says Jessica Walsh on the site.

Will these two single friends find love while embarking on a social and artistic experiment?

“We’re playing with fire. We’re playing with a good friendship,” admits Tim Goodman.

Regardless of if the two are a good match romantically, they are creatively. Get the latest scoop on this romantic? endeavor at fortydaysofdating.com.
